Tea and biscuits were organized by the discussion group. There were over 90 members present and this probably represents a record attendance for our bi-monthly meetings.

The next group leaders meeting will be held on Wednesday 15th September.
BI-MONTHLY MEETINGS are held on the third Friday of each alternate month. Refreshments are arranged by different groups. All members and guests are welcome. Following is a list of speakers for the next few bi-monthly meetings;

Bi-Monthly 18th September 2009
Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this meeting a success. We ran this as a “show-case” to provide an opportunity for individual groups to demonstrate or display their activities. To set the ball rolling webmaster Derek Henry projected and talked us through our own web-site and with the projector and screen still set up John Weller showed us some slides taken by the bus-pass walkers group. There were splendid displays set up by embroidery and crafts, mah-jong, art appreciation, walking, wine tasting, sketching and creative writing groups. Maurice Fennell’s cactus display added variety to the occasion The using your voice group gave a sparkling rendition of the song “Bingo”, the creative writing group amused us with a reading of one of their humorous duologues and the session was rounded off by the play reading group who read an extract form Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of being Earnest”.

Coffee Mornings are held on every 4th Friday of each month. This is an informal gathering held in the Crown Centre and is open to all U3A members and anyone showing interest in becoming a member.
