Using Your Voice

The Devizes singing group, 'Use Your Voice' celebrated the end of the summer term with a concert for friends and family.  It was somewhat disconcerting to find so many friends and family turn up!   However, we took a deep, collective breath and launched into a medley of folk songs and songs from the shows.  

These were interspersed with piano duets performed by Henk Meijer and Peter Cook.  They played 'Trumpet and Drums' from 'Childrens' Games' and some lively Scott Joplin. 

Our soloist, Patrick Hill, entertained us with a Flanders and Swan number and finished off in fine style by 'Wishing us all a fond goodbye' in his strong baritone voice. 

Despite a few little hiccups here and there, there seemed to be smiles all round and the afternoon concluded with a free tea and time for social chat.
