Vacancies
John Weller has decided that the time has come to step down from the committee and hand over his two main roles. There are therefore vacancies for a Newsletter Editor and a Membership Secretary, both require a reasonable degree of computer literacy. If anyone is interested John can send them a detailed job description.
Newsletter
The newsletter is produced quarterly. Microsoft Publisher is used but any decent DTP package will suffice. The job also includes sending out the monthly MailChimp email but that could be hived off as a separate role.

Membership
The membership details are currently held on a bespoke database which has been running successfully for 14 years It was set up to allow someone who was not familiar with databases or spreadsheets to operate and automates much of the data extraction required for newsletter mailing lists, etc.
It is not essential that this software is used, Excel would probably do the job albeit with more manual effort.
