3rd & 4th Wednesday
A Member’s Home
Leader: John Barron
“Wine is one of the most civilised things in the world and one of the natural things that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”
Ernest Hemingway, Death in the Afternoon.
See Newsletter for contact details.
We are comprised of two groups who meet monthly on the third or fourth Wednesday of the month, from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm., in members homes. See Newsletter for contact details.
With the continuing improvement in the Coronavirus situation I am pleased to be able to tell you that we are able to resume our Wine Appreciation meetings. However, not in member’s homes for the time being. The main hall of the Conservative Club has been hired for Wednesday 21 October at 4.00 pm for both groups to attend. The ‘Con Club’ is located at the top of Long Street and has plenty of car parking available. Access is from the car park via a short path to a side door. This enters into a small reception area and the main hall is on the right. There is plenty of space in the main hall to enable us to stay socially distant otherwise the presentation will be as normal.
Provisional booking has also been made for Wednesday 18 November and, by discussion, we can decide what to do for December. This all presumes the virus situation will continue to improve. If the situation deteriorates we can further review our decision. I do hope you all feel able to attend and I look forward to seeing you once again.
