“Wine is one of the most civilised things in the world and one of the natural things that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”
Ernest Hemingway, Death in the Afternoon.

We are comprised of two groups who meet monthly on the third or fourth Wednesday of the month, from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm., in members homes. See Newsletter for contact details.
We managed to get both groups together for our first meeting since February last year. Fortunately our presenter, with great resolve, had managed to keep the wines bought eighteen months ago! English Wines was the subject and a broad range of what is available fairly locally was presented. So what did we think of them? Mmm.. A mixed reception I’m afraid. Apart from sparkling wines English wines do not impress but it was an interesting exercise. We shall meet again in a month at the same venue, both groups together observing all the social distancing rules as required. We have yet managed to put together a programme and are treating each month as it comes until we know further how the rules may change.
