“Wine is one of the most civilised things in the world and one of the natural things that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”
Ernest Hemingway, Death in the Afternoon.

December will be the very last meeting of the Wine Group but after eighteen years I believe we have reached the end. Enthusiasm had waned during the Covid Pandemic, we lost four members over the close down period, one member moved away and two further members have resigned. Attendance since has been down for several reasons, sickness, holidays, etc. so the time has come to end it all. Our final meeting will be our Christmas meeting and any funds left will be spent on refreshments. Hopefully, there will be enough to give everyone who attends a little Christmas spirit and the odd mince pie, or two – we will see. I would like to thank all those members who have stayed the course for their help and support and their ability to make some fine presentations over the years. It has been a wonderful experience for me and it is with great sadness that I am ending what has been a great group. Thank you all.
