After 45 years working in advertising, marketing and public relations, Philip retired in September 2025 from his last role as a communications and engagement officer with Wiltshire Police. Previous roles had been 23 years in award-winning advertising agencies and worked with a wide range of consumer, retail and trade and tech clients followed by 13 years with Sarsen Housing/Aster Group, here in Devizes.
His hobby interests include writing and he joined the U3A Creative Writing Group only a few months back and stepped forward when learning the U3A may have to close for a lack of chairman and vice chairman.
His hobby interests include wargames, military history and painting figures to fight battles with; he is a long-term member of Devizes & District Wargames Group that has been running for over 50 years. As a retirement project, Philip has bought a motor cruiser to renovate and explore the Kennet and Avon Canal.
