We have read a variety of light-hearted plays and are currently reading a rather saucy play called Nell Gwynne by Jessica Swale. It is based on the true life of Eleanor “Nell” Gwynn, a real-life 17th-century orange seller who became one of England’s first professional female actors and the famous mistress of King Charles II. It has a number of embellishments to make it more fun for today’s audience.
Our group is full but we can give help and advice to anyone wanting to start another group.
