Art Appreciation

Fourth Monday

Assembly room, Town Hall

GROUP LEADER:  Bernie Maltby

The Art Appreciation group meets on the 4th Monday of the month in the assembly rooms at the town hall.

The programme for the coming autumn/winter is as follows:

28th September – Sue Martin will tell us about her work with Erlestoke prisoners. Some of you might have seen the exhibition this summer which was displayed in St Mary’s church, and it should be very interesting to hear more about this topic.
26th October – Gail Brown is planning to focus on colour and will speak about the work of David Hockney and Vincent Van Gough.
23rd November – Robina Orchard will talk about Ukrainian art.

21st December – Christmas Party! So far we have Sue Tovey and Robina volunteering to give us more examples of their textiles, but the group leader is open to others who might like to give 20 minutes on a topic of their choice.

You do not need to be good at art to enjoy our sessions. We learn about a variety of arts and crafts and often feature local artists in our programme. The September meeting will be free entry and new members are welcome as there is plenty of room.

Doors open at 9.45 am when free coffee is served in the bar. The session starts at 10.15 am and finishes at around 11.30am. (Usual entry fee is £5.)
