Nature Walks

First Monday at 10:30

Leader: Marlene Prangnell
As the name implies, Nature Walks has an emphasis on observing nature, allowing time to share our knowledge, take photos and admire the view.
The walks are more of a stroll, usually no more than 2 miles, and details of terrain are given in advance for those who find hills or stiles difficult. We meet on the first Monday throughout the year, “Rain or Shine”, in varied locations, from nature reserves to local parks. Members are sent a programme by email and those with a particular interest can lead some of the walks (including a night time bat outing!) Car sharing encouraged.
The beauty of nature lies in the unexpected. I often do a recce and note what might be of interest on the walk proper only for the plants to have been eaten, or a river to have overflowed, or none of the birds to appear on the day! So, nature does its own thing and we approach each walk with an open mind.
