Nature Walks

First Monday

Monday 10:30

Leader: Marlene Prangnell
The aim of Nature Walks is to allow time to observe nature, share our knowledge and enthusiasm, take photos and admire the view. The walks are more of a stroll, usually around 2 miles, and details of terrain are given in advance for those who find hills or stiles difficult.
We have enjoyed exploring unfamiliar areas as well as taking time to watch and listen in places we thought we knew!
The beauty of nature often lies in the unexpected…invariably I do a recce and note what might be of interest on the walk proper, only for wind/rain/heat/cold to change the picture completely. So, nature does its own thing and we approach each walk with an open mind.
We meet on the first Monday, “Rain or Shine”, in different locations – each with a particular nature-focussed habitat eg chalk downland, woodland, wetland. Members are sent a programme by email and those with a particular interest can lead some of the walks (including a night time bat outing!)
