A Member’s Home
Leader: Annette Percival; Jenny Warren
This group meets on the 1st Friday of every month, in members homes. The meeting runs from 10. 30 am until midday and includes coffee and biscuits. We discuss the book that was allocated for the session and everyone has a chance to give their opinion, which usually leads to lively discussion.
Over the past year we have been meeting on Zoom , on the first Friday of the month, which is our regular meeting day. This has been organised by Jo Wright, who is our Zoom expert in the group.
I have been ordering books from Devizes Library on a monthly basis , which I collect from the library by appointment and then deliver to recipients. From March to September last year we were reading our own books and swapping them with each other, and we were able to talk about these books in our monthly meeting. In Autumn 2020, when the library set up a collection service, we were able to study set titles again. We plan to continue like this , and meet on Zoom monthly, until we have clear government and U3A instructions that as a group of 9 people we can meet in a garden , or a member’s home.
We currently have 9 members, but if you are interested in joining us, please contact Jen Warren, and we will be happy to put you on our waiting list.
