“Rusty Racquets started for players of a certain age, whose enthusiasm had not been diminished by experience or hip replacements” says Jenny “so when I moved to Devizes I thought u3a members here might like playing a little less competitively, while still enjoying exercising in a fun way.”
As Jenny can no longer play, the running of the group has been taken over by husband and wife team Mel and Pat Trigg, who enjoy playing racquet sports, including pickleball, and table tennis at the u3a group at Market Lavington. Whether playing indoors or out, players meet at Devizes Leisure Centre at 4pm on Mondays and contribute £2 each week, which covers the cost of court hire and balls. The first session is free for anyone interested. Racquets are available to borrow.
